MummyplaysMinecraft on that other place

I’m a lifelong genealogist and independence supporter (unrelated). I’m a cross between an old hippy, a disco diva and a classic rocker, lover of books, art, old maps and history. Mum to a 9yo, usually dumfungled 🤣
Still avoided Wham as luckily 10yo singing alternative lyrics doesn’t count 🤣 only listen to rock radio and no time for tv.

For me, Christmas in the 70s was going to Glasgow to see the Fraser’s windows and visiting Santa. It was such a treat, another world then and another world now.

After she died, we found an old job application of my mum’s from the mid/late 70s. It asked for details of her husband and all dependent children (my sister and I) and whether her husband was aware of the application and consented for her to apply for the job.

Said job became her life career ❤️

Sadly, even if they did, he wouldn’t care. He even admitted in front of the press that it was okay for Mamdani to call him fascist. He thought it was funny 😢

Can’t wait. Not a lawyer but I’m sure it will be a good opportunity to get everything out in the open 🤣

These kids will have gone through the trauma of the pandemic and now ICE. Their wellbeing has gone 😥 I worry about their adulthood resilience. A whole generation that has had their mental health negatively impacted in ways they may not be aware.

This reads like the sort of case that all future students will study in Jurisprudence 🤣

Definition debates, human rights, a lot of humour…and an underlying presence of authoritarian menace.

As a Scot 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I echo your message and sentiment. Musk is, to put it politely, speaking a load of old tosh 🤬🤯😂

Or as we 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 would say to him “Awa a bile yer heid, yer talking’ mince”.

Whoo hoo! It’s back for me too.

Always remember trying to shut my mum’s email/internet account after she died, as the monthly payments kept being made. They kept insisting they spoke to her. I was in tears yelling “she’s dead” in my grief. They still wanted to chat…

Wait til your 50s. Then you think things like "ooh, that's a nice container, it will do for all my pills and medicines” 🤣

Ancestry has poor search filters and terrible transcription, especially of the Scottish records they do have. I see many more bad Ancestry trees ahead if this comes to pass.

Scotland’s People is not perfect but it is an amazing online resource as it is.
