They won't even properly hide stuff I actively ignored - not only it still shows up but "blurred out", but if there's a promotion or whatever it will be splattered all over the home screen.

Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

Demons can lie to you. You have to rebuke them categorically, rather than fold when they say the right words.

Vine is being rebooted under the name diVine, with funding from Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey.

The app plans to feature more than 10,000 previously archived Vines and does not allow AI-generated content.

Speaking at Parks Associates’ “Future of Video” event this week, Needham Co. analyst Laura Martin noted that Curiosity Stream is licensing 300,000 hours’ worth of its own content, as well as 1.7 million hours’ worth of third-party content. Curiosity Stream splits the AI licensing revenue with those third parties, she said. In fact, Curiosity Stream is peddling more content to hyperscalers and AI developers than it is to streaming viewers. The company’s library includes 2 million hours of content, but “the overwhelming majority of that is for AI licensing,” Stinchcomb said.

Oh I fucking wish it was that. Most “guardrails” I saw was just a set of instructions prepended to the machine’s context. It’s less filtering and more praying to the machine spirits.
