You most certainly were! And much cooler and more impressively. I had always thought of her as vaguely progressive but idk her much. That anecdote is truly egregious.

Yes I wrote a book about all this. I largely agree with your historical narrative, just not the political conclusions you draw from it about capitalism and solidarity. I’ll try at some point to trace that

Capital benefiting I think is not the main mechanisms through which sexual violence is linked to class structure. Poverty, the prevalence of the nuclear family and private household, wage differentials, the restricted scope of addressing harm, and much else play much more central roles

But I guess the question is if we are fighting for a further horizon. If we are, the may be many situations so some level of solidarity and involvement with compromised or compromising movements may be essential, including fighting over these issues internally
