Why doesn’t @tekin.co.uk just ignore DHH’s blog posts? Calling his ideas “harmful and toxic” is a pretty glib and harmful response to them. Don’t like his posts? Ignore them. If people really cared about harmful toxic ideas they’d be criticizing alcohol ads. Let people live their lives.

It’s certainly not nice but it’s the truth from DHH’s perspective.
In the same way, @tekin.co.uk’s article about DHH is true and not nice, but I’m not about to call for his banishment from the things he created because of his harmful and toxic ideas.

DHH’s point is that this particular ad clearly wasn’t meant to sell to Danes in Copenhagen: its purpose seemed to be representation of different body types over “oppressive” beauty ideals, but beauty ideals are net good.
And my point is that that idea isn’t harmful or toxic.

I’d consider “he holds racist and transphobic views [we find abhorrent], as well as a number of other traits undesirable” threatening days after Charlie Kirk was assassinated for the same thing.
Also they intentionally named it after an extremely violent and deadly French military operation.

His condescending language feels warranted to me in this case because of the severity of the threat and tone of accusations being used against him by this group.
If someone was breaking into your home I wouldn’t fault you for shooting them, even though that would usually be very rude.

This particular ad was cited by DHH because it was on a prominent billboard in Copenhagen, so the target audience would be the average Copenhagen consumer’s dream and ideal, but it’s obviously not.

Oh for sure: it could hurt the feelings of someone who is obese.
But pretending they have a beautiful ideal body is objectively more harmful if they believe me. Being obese is an insane health risk. There’s a reason fit bodies seem more attractive.
