Geeky Lina
@geekylina.bsky.social
A geeky girl with an interest in reading and writing among other things.
I like playing computer games, including action games, RTS, turn based strategy and some RPG.
I also build and paint miniatures (I don't play games with them, just collect them).
The issue is that the silicone I get for the moulds is in a 2 part putty, so I can't pour it. That is my current limitation, but I don't know where to get that type of silicone "locally" (locally in the sense of in a store in the nearby countries that I can order).

I know I was mostly thinking about the possibility of conversion sets with bodies and some extra gear, rather than just sets of bodies, as no one would want that except perhaps me and a couple other people worldwide.

I have done my own poor sculpts and some 2 part moulds to cast bodies out of milliput, as I don't have the materials to make better 2 part moulds that I could use with liquid resin or something similar, but having something like a plastic kit for bodies would be easier.

This is one of those hobbies where practices makes a big difference. Although I am far from being a great painter it is noticeable how much I have progressed and I think that is the natural progression. Keep it up!

Thank you!

I have built some conversions with cast resin bodies but those are expensive. I have some miniatures with 3d printed bodies, but unless you have a printer that is also difficult to get (I don't have one), so I am hoping that one day some company will invest more on cheap conversion parts.

For example some of the stargrave kits that I have build have around 20 heads per sprue and around 15 sets of arms, so if instead of 5 bodies I had 15 I would be able to get 3 times the models. I have made some conversions with bodies made with milliput but it is not the same as a proper plastic one

Thank you! I still have a few other Stargrave and Frostgrave kits to paint in my queue. I just build them too fast :D

The crew is looking quite nice :)

I should add that I mean in the sense of making some tiles for myself that I can turn into a larger board but that are easier to handle while painting, as painting large stuff can be problematic, especially when your arms aren't that long.

If only I could have my own house and in particular a really nice big house like I have in Sims 4 I would be pretty happy.

I will keep that in mind but I usually try to get all minis from within the EU due to customs as I have had some issues with customs while I was in college that I prefer to avoid.

I have been mostly getting minis from other companies rather than GW lately as I don't really play so the source of my minis is not too important.

It is meant to be a proxy for the goliath truck/rockgrinder but I don't play so for me it would mostly just be part of a group of miners/rebels.
