As a counterpoint, my younger brother cut off contact with our parents (and then us) around 20 years ago because he said they did not raise him in "Biblical Manhood" and so he needed to take their influence out of his life. They weren't good enough Christians. The hurt he has caused is horrible.

I hope you can fight to save it. It's so wild that when they don't like what science shows, their solution is to silence the science.
Also, the NCAR campus is so beautiful. I used to ride my bike up the hill back in high school. Don't let them destroy that campus or give it away.

True, but all he said was "early" next year. So that could be 1 Jan or 31 Jan. Who knows? Simply saying you aren't showing up anymore because you'll be quitting soon when you are the Deputy Director seems a bit much.
