The photo depicts planet Venus as seen with a telescope, while setting behind a mountain. The montain is Monte Priaforà, Italy, and has a natural arch of limestone, with a diamenter of several meters. Venus disappears behind the mountain, just to pop out few seconds later in the middle of the hole. Venus bears a sickle shape, as a crescent moon, because of the angle between the Sun's rays lighting it, and the Earth from which we view it. The mountain appears colored in a deep relaxing hue of blue, with ligher patches of snow on the ground, and tree branches growing against the sky.
