I can imagine that any kind of investigations would make Bessant uncomfortable and he would strongly advocate that they not be done.

Of all the people to loathe, I can't say that Ezra Klein would ever be on my list. His Charlie Kirk line will follow him to his grave I expect, but he's playing on the right team I think.

I always understood him to be arrogant, but I didn't realize just how dumb Rubio is.

Pete! Help us! We have no leaders and the country has crossed over into an authoritarian regime. Can you help us stop these people??
January 3, 2026 at 5:56 PM
Absolutely correct. This is the tipping point. Posting online is meaningless and craven. These people must be stopped immediately.

This is a global truth. The Ultra-Right is populated by grifters. All the rhetoric is just smoke screen for them to steal from us.

I can only imagine there is a deep expectation of financial gain.

William Baude you say? I already got a taste of him in the editorial with you and Kate Shaw. Hard pass.

Cotton looks terrible. He's rotting from the inside out.
December 6, 2025 at 4:47 PM
Why did I actually believe that there was "bipartisan concern". Tom Cottons' brazen gaslighting is a new low for the Republican Party. Just another reminder that their moral cowardice and mendacious intent is why we are stuck with this crew in the first place.

Tell it to the judge.
December 2, 2025 at 8:29 PM
I dunno. His whole cabinet is bottom of the barrel. I don't think he could find anyone else to work for him. Plus, I don't think he has the energy at this point. He's done.

Trump has no need for congress, so he's dismissed it. There's nothing more to it.
October 30, 2025 at 9:55 PM
So much winning Karoline! You sure got 'em good with that!
October 23, 2025 at 6:31 PM
An actual reporter? How did she get in. And by the way, there is no legal opinion that allows to Trump to do whatever he wants whenever he wants. Including desecrating a National Historic Landmark.
October 23, 2025 at 6:25 PM
SCOTUS has made it extremely difficult to charge a politician with bribery. This is why Homan, Vance et. al keep deflecting and saying he didn't commit a crime. You can bet your life, however, that he accepted $50k in a paper bag. The crime would be not declaring that as income.

Amy, just spitballing here, but couldn't you at least give the rationale for your temporary decision. I mean, let people know it's temporary, but at the same time explain on what bases you are over ruling a lower court decision. Whaddya think? Can do?
October 13, 2025 at 1:57 AM
I think at this point Trump is just going to grab as much as he can before he's thrown out of office. If it's a choice between Laura Loomer and his personal enrichment he's not gonna think twice.
October 10, 2025 at 3:46 PM
Wait, what?? A foreign military base on American Soil?? What strategic need does Qatar have that requires an airbase in Idaho? This stinks to high heaven!!!
October 10, 2025 at 3:43 PM
Galling is a good word. I actually don't know if we have the word in English to accurately describe this feeling.
October 9, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Incredibly, she thinks she's doing well here. Maybe that smirking, disdainful tone plays well in MAGA land, but here in reality she looks like a dope.
October 7, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Totally agree Josh. Having a corrupted Supreme Court has made all of this ten times worse. Though those reforms would probably take a few years to implement, it is absolutely fundamental to repairing our democracy. Increase the number of judges and enforce term limits is an elegant, proven solution.

Senator, can you list the first three things that you are doing today to attempt to thwart this authoritarian move by Trump?
