The cheapies arguably dont have quite as dynamic of a picture and they introduce lag (which isn't good for one of the use cases for the retrotinks, retrogaming on hdmi monitors) but for what I've needed it for, it's been plenty good. And for a few bucks it's at least cheap enough to test out

The 5X & the 4k retrotinks have buffers in them that the 2x doesn't have. I was using mine (2x) to capture vhs but any slight problem with the source tape signal (even not visible to the human eye) can cause a dropout to blue/green screen which isn't best for archiving.

Ive just been using this cheapie to capture a.co/d/7Xy9gm6 for archiving
. Ive used a retrotink 2X, and it's good for say streaming live/retrogaming, but it doesn't use a buffer so bad vid signals can drop frames(not great for archiving vhs).

What time does midnight madness start?

nope, absolutely would not be the same. I really did not like at the time the Cagliostro dub from Streamline, and without Robotech i would not have been in the fandom at all. After seeing his 'underground' Kiki dub and some of their later work at the time, I softened my opinions on the him/the works

I wholeheartedly concur. I even have in print my shall we say, 'opinions' on his work tinged by youthful exuberance...But he was important and misunderstood, and was generally nice to interact with personally. he is definitely missed

Bob and I are both from Indiana so I'd known him a while.
1993 I'd gone to the 2 back to back cons (AnAm,AX) and my first time with a camcorder, hence why I have some other vids in YT. I really didn't know what I was doing e regards to it. Just wanted something I could remember it later by
