Last time I was in an NYC game store, I spotted some sealed Mythos CCG boosters on a high shelf and blew the last of my spare dollars on them. They had at least a quarter inch of accumulated dust.

GMs have a lot to remember and are constantly improvising in response to unpredictable players. The intriguing curiosity might be more dominant in their 'impro brain' than the fact that it is a secret.

Go to a big bed shop IRL. Try the weird scanner thing if you like, but don't put too much stock in its opinion. Lie on every single mattress you like the look of. It's worth investing in a good one because you will get huge value out of it.
