I will not buy a game made with AI. There is no amount of anticipation I could have that will not immediately sour if I found out the game was made using AI.

Prepping for the next adventure of the playtest campaign < Developing an elaborate metanarrative in which the game is written by a character in the setting based on pseudo-historical events.
You’ve heard many times, no doubt, the story of the Witch King. In bedtime stories, story books, and big budget films every decade or so. You’ve heard how through treachery and dark magic he cut down the High King and ended the last hope of a united Isle. You’ve read, or watched, how the heroes defeated him. What you might not know is that the oldest written version of this story (itself written hundreds of years after the story is said to take place) makes no mention of these heroes: no Felic, no Lucia, no gold spearhead or magic bow. In this tale the kingdom falls, the Witch King wins, and then, essentially, nothing. A few leaders, the author says, attempt to “rally folk to common cause,” but all are swiftly defeated. Eventually, they speculate, the Witch King must have died or departed, but “not year nor season nor cause” is known. No wonder later writers decided to ‘punch up’ the story, adding a band of daring heroes, a wise mentor, a tragic sacrifice. It is not necessarily true, of course, that the oldest version of a story is closest to the truth. Every tale of the Witch King is more legend than history. But in creating this game, I have chosen to take them at their word. What if the Witch King won, but his reign of terror turned to slow decline? An isolated Isle left without the structures or institutions that had united them, the spaces between them growing wilder year by year? This is the world of To Places Lost.
