I saw Brucie as an audience member on one of his BBC shows. He was amazing to watch. His off camera interactions with the audience were hilarious and genuinely affectionate. For me he really was one the greats of British entertainment. And TGG was a fave in our house back in the 70s

Here you go Jon - the first is a classic 4SUB (note the rather free & easy track access!!), then a 2BIL (my favourites if the genre), and finally a rather splendid 4LAV approaching Clayton Tunnel with a couple of 2BILs at the rear. 🤗

So this is what our renationalised railways will look like. Apart from the yellow nose cone (not required by Standards or necessary) it’s not too bad. Though all this red, white & blue is a bit tedious. Main thing is the BR double arrow has been left as the design classic it is. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Well whatever the reason was it’s certainly not news. But then that’s never stopped them before has it??

Great pic of my pride & joy Joe - and reminds me to shamelessly plug my latest book once again - with a photograph on the cover I took inside that very tunnel.

Currently available through Amazon or Apple Books.

And here with a couple of bonus photos

🤗

Over the moon with this unique and rare original sign - it’ll look lovely in either the utility room or my ground floor bog.

But can you guess where it lived in its working life since the 1950s, pointing people the right way?

Shocked to see this in @countrylifemag.bsky.social magazine. How on earth could something so fundamental to my home town be ‘up for sale’? The Common??

What!?!?!?

😟

I bought a delightful vintage LT railway sign this morning, & in the dealer’s showroom shelves I noticed 2 amazing original #drwho costume heads - a Sea Devil & a Sontaran.

I almost had to hide behind the nearest sofa! 🫣

What used to be WHSmith always looked like a stock room after a force 10 Gale had blown through it. I notice now it is TGJones (?) it still looks like the end of a jumble sale.

This is getting ridiculous; what on earth would I want to review my weekly shopping for?

The day it flies off the shelf dressed as an ancient Egyptian & does a sand dance just for me is the day I might consider a critique.

Until then my sausages will have to remain anonymous.

Good afternoon💅🏼

Ooh that sounds lovely!

I love that photo. Christmas 1971 possibly? I think my mother was trying to break the world record for the most people round the smallest table. 🤣

My Auntie Frances was one of the funniest people I ever knew. She used to have me in hysterics. She had a dog called ‘Judith’

Bugger up the infotainment system on every car I have ever owned that I’ve tried to run it on.

You’re welcome.

Sadly we would have had a Robertson’s from the Pricerite supermarket 😟

I’ve just eaten a Clementine.

That’s my Yule done & dusted.

Although I might have a Brazil nut & a fig at some point.

My mum used to buy dried figs this time of year.

Half a packet of them & you’re on the bog for the rest of the evening.

Xmas was tough back in my day. 💅🏼
