Do whatever you think is right. Today, tomorrow, and beyond. This is my choice. You can decide for yourself.
Or we could do like the French and take to the streets to hold our government’s feet to the fire.

In Credit Unions, all people with accounts are the stockholders, so the benefit is passed along to us in the form of lower (or in some cases no) fees, lower interest on loans, and higher interest on certificates and accounts.

I moved all accounts, loans, etc to Credit Unions decades ago. Banks’ business model is to keep as much of your money as possible to benefit their stockholders, CEO, etc.

Finally, using cash is better than using a credit card. I use cash whenever possible. It helps the local merchants where I shop, and it does not support banks, who are among the worst when it comes to abusing the weakest among us.

But I want to do even better. So I choose to shop at locally owned stores whenever possible. Supporting the local economy is key, with one exception. If I walk into your store and Fox News is playing, I walk out.

Fact is I wouldn’t patronize many of them anyway, the point is I will shop at stores like Costco and Trader Joe’s because they treat their employees well and operate in an ethical manner.

Want to make a bigger difference? Try permanently boycotting companies that do not agree with your ethics. For example, I do not shop at Walmart, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby, Tractor Supply, Target, Amazon, Chick-Fil-Eh Best Buy, MacDonald's, and more, it’s a long list.

I believe that corporations know that most people will buy more on the day before and the day after, and their weekly totals will be mostly unaffected.

I have said before that I do not believe a one day moratorium on purchasing does much, although as many have pointed out, maybe it’s a start. So I will do my part.

I see a lot of people calling for a boycott on buying anything on 2/28.
Do more. Do better.
If you boycott Walmart, Amazon, and Target permanently they will notice. Buy local, pay cash.
