I'm with you. We got out our snow blower and shovel and sorted our sidewalks and driveway and the neighbors that needed help. If you want to live in a community that has your back in a time of personal or widespread need, build it now. Offer kindness when you can; ask for help when you need it. 🤝

Thanks! The weather here is fickle. Temps are up and down. I'm not sure about the forecast for Christmas yet.

It's not any better where it goes through Philadelphia, although 476, 676, and 76 through Philadelphia are usually worse than 95.

I have to pay out of pocket for mine as well, unfortunately. I've found very good prices and quality on Zenni, even for my complicated distance prescription.

I made the switch to progressives this year and I am kicking myself for waiting so long. I had heard horror stories from people having a hard time transitioning to progressives and it was not the case for me at all. It's amazing to not have to rip off single vision glasses to see up close.

I don't think it's about fridge size. I think people don't know how to cook whole food ingredients as a life skill and habit. Two fridges here. No food waste. But I can turn any ingredients in my fridges and pantry into a meal with no warning and no recipe in a moment, faster than a take out.

Yes, it was a known problem with that generation of MINI engine, only the S versions, I think.

I feel your pain. I owned a 2009 MINI Cooper S for 13 years. I loved that car, but I was a glutton for financial punishment. 💸💸💸 5 timing chains in less than 100,000 miles. Countless head gaskets. A few cooling systems. I still miss that car. It was the transmission that finally did me in.

If you use the food mill, you don't have the sifting, there is much less dust, and it goes so much faster.

Aleppo Pepper is treated with oil and salt. After I make the flakes I rub a small amount of neutral oil and fine sea salt into the flakes, just enough to be absorbed. That's why they are shiny. If you use the food processor, half the time is spent sifting finished flakes from too large flakes. 1/

I am so sorry for forgetting the ALT text. There are four photos showing the finished chili flakes in jars, the finished chili flakes, close up, on a spoon, after they were treated with oil and salt, as is traditional, the food mill I use for making chili flakes, and two bowls of dehydrated peppers.

One time a guy at a bagel shop called me "homie." I asked, "Did you just call me homie?" He shrugged. "Everyone's my homie." And I still smile about being this guy's homie, even though I moved away from that place years ago.

The Chairman was good at melting. He was an average sized cat of average weight, but when fully relaxed he had the inertia of 50 pounds of hot wet leather in a garbage bag. Gravity increased. Bones disappeared. No being on the planet could relax as completely.

They are art. I made an art meme of The Chairman a few years ago. He melted, like time itself.

They're *touching* ♥️

My parents don't text, don't have cell phones, etc, so I get an "off schedule" call and assume the worst to get a question about setting a timer on the stove. 🤦‍♀️

We swear by Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract or Ultra. They're awesome. Low dust. No weird scent. Cats love the litter.

Pedipalps, the biceps of (some) arthropods. 😍

I grow a few varieties every year and blend them together. There is no strategy regarding flavor. It's about varieties I've had an easier time growing over the years. Magyar does well for me. I grow the paprika peppers in the native soil here, clay.
