The final TL;DR:
If you pick #Spear, you'll get the #Flashiest weapon in the game.
But also the #HighestMaintenance weapon in the game.

Thanks for listening to my little TED Talk 😂

I even beat the 3-phase final boss 3 times in 9 minutes (my game crashed the first 2 times during the final cutscene).

The Dual Wields needed a bit of farming.
But I beat the final boss in 3 attempts.

But with the Spear... I felt the pain in both my Expert and Hardcore runs.

#Farming is also #slower and less exciting with the Spear.
A few spins with the Dual Wields or a few charged attacks with the Greatsword get the job done fast.

In fact, I was surprised by how little farming I needed with the Greatsword. Combat was flowing so well just by progressing naturally.

This makes the #Spear playstyle #Conservative compared to the other two.
You mostly play the game when you're allowed to.
And while I like playing the patience game, I don't like time-wasting. Especially when I have alternatives that allow me to get from point A to point B #faster and more #reliably

On the other hand, Dual Wields and Greatswords feel impactful.
If I quickly cut you with the #DualWields, I expect you to #Flinch.
If I hit you with a freaking huge hunk of metal, you'll definitely #Flinch.
But somehow, if I poke you in the butt or swipe with a #Spear, you can quickly #ShakeItOff.

Your build will finally function properly in the #LateGame.
Until then, you'll be stuck with Trance and one skill point-hungry ability, if you fully upgrade it.
Or 2-3 of them that don't do much on their own.

Why is that? You can't chain them properly and keep your enemies #Staggered for a while.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Before being nerfed, there was this skill called #Trance that used to boost all damage sources. Now it primarily boosts skill point-reliant abilities. And the rest of the damage to some degree.
TL;DR #Spear is a #ComboWeapon.

But it'll take a while to assemble all the pieces.

I argue that I don't want my #StaminaRegeneration to be crippled when using a #StaminaHeavy weapon.
I don't want to pull any stops in optimizing my build.

However, the core damage of the Spear comes from abilities that consume skill points. This is the main "lots of pieces coming together" part.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
You don't feel penalized when investing in #Strength with a #Greatsword, since it's your main damage-dealing stat.
#DualWields have great #Lightweight sets.
And even when you need to invest in some Strength, you don't feel crippled.

Some players argue that #AgilityB is just fine for #Spears.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
The best one that makes the game a joke comes right before the final boss.

Not only do they come in late. But they'll never let you hit #AgilityA by investing in your main attributes.
Both #Greatsword and #DualWields scale with #Strength - the only weight-reduction attribute, besides #Vitality.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Most of the Spear skills and bonuses from wearing sets encourage you to #BrinkDodge.
While being away from the boss is safe, it also means longer times to get back in and deal damage (you can circumvent a bit of this).

Speaking of sets, the best Spear ones come #Mid to #LateGame.

On Hardcore, where you can't alter your equipment's affixes, it becomes increasingly hard to hit what you need.
Not to mention a high enough number for Max Stamina and Stamina Regen.
On top of DMG Increase, DMG Multiplier, and Rear Assault Damage.

Second, Spear mostly relies on an #EvasivePlaystyle
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
It's fast, flashy, and safe for a short period of the early game.
But then you realize how much investment it needs to be great.

First, the #Affixes on your equipment.
These make or break builds more than your base attributes.
Spear can hardly function without #MaxStamina and #StaminaRegen.
November 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM
The game puts a lot of emphasis on #Stamina.
Even visually, it's probably the stat that fluctuates the most.
But here's the thing: a #DeadEnemy is better than an exhausted enemy.

#Spear is great for tiring enemies.
But it has a lot of #MovingPieces that need to come together to murder them.

Meanwhile, I highly recommend giving this @mercanuis.bsky.social guy a copy to stream it 😂
He's awesome and an absolute audience fit for UNBEATABLE.
He's also tried the demo and had lots of fun with it. I should know - I was there.

Thanks a bunch for the tag, Merc 🙌

Just to clarify for @thehashtagonist.bsky.social, I'm more on the press side.

I can certainly give UNBEATABLE a go, although it might not be in my reviewing repertoire. But you can take the risk 😂

I can help with a live dev interview, if that works better.
