Deciding that the paper was the main issue. Returned the tape flow around the fixed and moving guides, but removed the paper from both sides.
What a difference, moved freely, I can expect a bit of noise on rewind perhaps, but at least this plays now.

I can tell from the rings that there is pressure on the paper coming from the turning spool. In the third pic I reversed the paper to see if this made any difference. Also tried the tape just round the smaller guide spools and not the fixed guide in combo. No change, maybe worse. Do over…

A few months back our plum tree went crazy, and I took a load into work for my colleagues.
One colleague then gave me a chili plant, one I gave to my nephew. The remaining plant just gave me its first offering.
Really chuffed!

I’m a fairly recent adopter. Got an old Toshiba satellite going with Mint, which I use for audio archiving. More recently got a crappy toy cloudbook going on xubuntu, but it’s flying now and totally useful again. So I bought it some stickers as a reward.
