Not so warm memories of the time in April and May 2020 when you could get a free easy COVID antibodies test - but there was no way to get a PCR test for a current infection. I'd tell this to people abroad and they thought that surely I misunderstood. Thank you, Folkhälsomyndigheten.

At least, be like Denmark, or Norway, or Finland on this. It's funny that all these folks ranting about how well we did it here have no interest in doing even better by looking to nearby places.

The truth is? Kids, don't try this at home. Not unless your country is as healthy as Sweden, has as many people living alone, is as sparsely populated as Sweden, has as few poor people, has a single payer medical system (that in reality buckled under, though we are still not admitting that here).

Meantime, our major newspapers would literally ignore the SCB experts to ship the nicest looking cherry-picked excess mortality numbers. With an SvD journalist who several years in a row would publish some unscientific nonsense about how awesome we did on covid here.

The best Thanksgiving meal I've ever had was in a local Korean restaurant in Providence, RI, November 2002. We were the only customers, and it was the best Korean meal I've had before or since.
