Day 4 of studying daily: more Huggingface course 💪🏻 Here are some facts about that course: 📘 it has nine chapters, each chapter taking 6-8 hours of work (I will try and update you if that’s true)📙completely free, it’s basically a guided tour through the huggingface docs but they teach you some theory

Day 3’s topic continued, the huggingface NLP course to get familiar with the library and its tools. Still in chapter 1 though😅and I read more of the “Building Large Language models from scratch” book by Sebastian Raschka, that's what you see me doing here😊Trying to make daily studying a habit again😁

Today I learned huggingface seems to have a nice course I’m only 30min in so can’t tell how good it is but I have learned more than I knew before and I now know what a pipeline object is (in that library it’s something else in every context but yeah) will keep you updated if I continue this course 😊

This week was a bit crazy at work 😶 I am about to be the main client contact for a starting project in the area of computer vision, but we also had a request for a NLP project related to LLMs like ChatGPT. For that one we’re preparing an in-depth presentation and have lots of research to do 🤯

Is computational linguistics a waste of time now that we have transformer LLMs? Today I read an interesting snippet in an NLP textbook from 2018, the year of BERT, which just 2 years later became a baseline model in NLP tasks everywhere.

Instead we are talking with multiple companies for next projects. I made a list yesterday and I’m involved in 5 of these conversations.

As always using my flexible work hours to the max 👌🏻😂 I finished work a bit earlier today so we could make it to the cinema in time (it was really hard to find a time that worked for both my friends and my schedule, so 4.30pm on a Monday it was) - we watched Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 😚
