Bad at bios, but I’m not a bot. 💁🏽‍♀️ 🏳️‍🌈

Trained as a historian, surviving late-stage capitalism by giving away Other People’s Money.
To be honest, I don’t think I’m particularly great at it either! And some of those movie sets probably got my mental picture beat!

But that crappy mental picture is MINE, damnit! ☺️😎

SAME!! It is an attempted robbery, to my mind.💁🏽‍♀️

I created a vision of these people & places when I read the book and you are trying to enter my head and erase/replace it!

I do not consent! I am actively protecting my kids from this -

(Am I melodramatic? Yes! But imagination is precious! 😊)

It feels like a cruel flex. Like, “Look at the problem I DON’T have.”

And it’s not even one of those things of which you can claim ignorance. Who isn’t familiar with the fact there are hungry people in this world…

…including the wherever these folks making these videos are? 😔

Okay, that name not making it to the brain thing…🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️🙋🏾‍♀️

Also, I love the games that meet folks where they are. I’ve seen and played a few now where there are paper rules to refer to if drama bubbles up mid game…

…but there are links to SHORT videos that review rules and show a round of play!

But see, I’m a delightful, truth telling, Black queer! I fear not, nor should you! 💁🏽‍♀️😎💅🏾

I have a “Chotiner take the wheel” approach where he provides consequences to the wicked so I need not bother! 🙏🏾

He would do puff pieces on us…in order to set up the next sucka! 🤣

My point exactly! I don’t think anyone is really looking for her like that. She had better invest whatever money she’s already got in the bank…💁🏽‍♀️

I love that this is so recognizable! 🤣

Maybe, maybe not.

Thing is, “it” girls are inherently understood as disposable. So they gotta make decent numbers when your moment comes to be seen as worth returning to or paying extra for.

She won’t fail over controversy, but maybe b/c there is another smiling young white woman to replace her.

Good luck! Cool that you found someone with short style street cred! 😊

Even when these AI services seem to celebrate individuality it is a threat, I believe.
New Yorkers did their part to push back against AI “friends” and Chicago is doing the same…

But this war is going to have many battles on many fronts.

Which is to say, WHO THE F*CK is Robyn?!?

Such a good point. I mean, I usually appreciate the “don’t sell yourself short” “dudes be trippin’” reminder in that advice…

…but meanwhile we need more conversations about the idea of being called “overqualified” and what’s *really* going on there.

Because that story is yet untold, honestly.

Same! And it was around this time of year too, because my kids said the stitches on my face looked like a spider for Halloween!

Wow, Eileen, I’m so sorry! Sending healing energy for real.

Since friends don’t make friends link to the NYT, here’s a funny piece about the NYC rollout from the Gothamist!
The guy behind those ‘Friend’ ads in the subways is tired of talking to New Yorkers
New Yorkers are taking note and even scribbling their own graffiti on the ads. Avi Schiffmann, 22, says that's the point — but doesn't feel like talking to them.

Oh! Let me not be a downer and leave you with that sad memory…

I’ll instead offer this reminder (in case you missed it) that this is the 40th anniversary of the airing of the episode where the neighborhood meets Mr. Snuffleupagus! ✨
[November 18th, 1985] In the Season 17 premiere of Sesame Street, Episode 2096, the adults on Sesame Street finally meet Mr. Snuffleupagus and realize he is real, not imaginary.

Elmo is also introduced as a new character.

This is how I felt about the Sesame Street retrospective at Brooklyn Children’s Museum forever ago. The exhibit starts with a full size Sesame Street stoop…The JOY!

But then there is a pivot to the death of Mr. Hooper and I WAS NOT READY. 🫨😔

It feels like Henson did what he was put on earth to do.

The museum is SOOO COOL! There are hands on exhibits to teach about all that’s involved in filmmaking.

During my visit, I was able to add sound effects to a scene from Jurassic Park and use Automated Dialogue Replacement to sub my voice for Morgan Freeman’s in The Shawshank Redemption!

A gem!

Last year I read an Octavia Butler short story I had never seen. I might even be willing to see Ava and her team attempt to film that.

Short story adaptations are often powerful...in part b/c they don’t need to engage in the ruthless cutting that is the first act of violence involved in adaptation.
