Played through the ACA series, an arcade puzzle game where you toss gems upwards to create chains.
Love how the game has you think ahead in a quick fashion, making for a hectic time. And the arcana-themed characters are cute! (Judgement is my fave, even tho she's trash)

Awesome.
Super snappy and stylish to play, blitzing through stages with tons of combat tech and a REALLY satisfying grappling mechanic. Activates those feel-good neurons I had with Zero in X4.

(10/7/25) Astalon: Tears of the Earth
Classicvania aesthetic with influence from the GBA/DS-era Castlevanias. It looked and felt great to play, with Matt Kap's score being a knockout.
Though it gets a bit easy in the endgame with all the ways to empower yourself, and the map isn't always reliable.

(10/2/25) Sonic Superstars
This was the Sonic game of all time.
Awful bosses, only half the soundtrack's good, and the back half of the Zones are agonizing. And Trip's Story only made these worse.
Emerald Powers are a cool idea though, and Trip's the cutest, bestest bean we got out of this game.

I describe this as "Mega Man and Ganbare Goemon had a Saturday morning anime baby." This one has many gameplay ideas that I think could've been tightened up, but they're not done poorly either.
Love the worldbuilding though; devs took great care making this world feel alive.

I'm not any sort of K-Pop stan or whatever, but Sony definitely missed out on with this.

Emerald Rush is more like Splatoon 3's Side Order, using rogue-like elements and timed goals to re-contextualize Bananza's gameplay. It's great if you want a new twist on the collect-a-thon formula.
