...broader reaching implications for young adults.

At the within-person level, 52/55 of the associations significantly differed (p < .001) in magnitude by age group: 33% were stronger for older adults (OA) & 67% were stronger for young adults (YA). The central well-being domains differed.

RQ1: Using mixed effect location scale modeling, we found that older adults scored *higher* on 10/11 well-being domains than young adults (all domains except for life satisfaction). Additionally, they showed less within-person variability in *all* 11/11 well-being domains than young adults.

Dear collaborators,

I’m sorry for my slow progress on our projects. Due to unavoidable circumstances, I am currently only able to type with one hand.

I appreciate your understanding.

Best,
Gabrielle

P.S. yes, I adopted a dog a few weeks ago 🥰

Our new paper in JG:PS is out!

In a sample of over 3100 older adults assessed each year for 12 years, loneliness & sense of purpose were unique predictors of cognitive decline, though past research has underestimated the reciprocal nature of this relationship.

My dept is looking for a new dept head!!! (please share)

I've appreciated my 1st year in the HDFS dept at Auburn. I love the balance between basic & applied research & the values stemming from being a land grant university.

If you're interested, apply by 8/15!

Google Scholar--I'm doing a lit review! Now is not the time!!!!! 😡

Has this been happening to anyone else recently? I've never gotten this message before until this week, and now this is my third time.

Just wrapped up the last class of my first semester teaching! We celebrated with presentations (probably not fun for students) + pastries (hopefully fun for students)

This has been exhausting, humbling, & often draining, but it was worth it to hear the students apply MLM to their own research today

Here's a screenshot of the Table of Contents. I also included a bullet pointed list at the beginning of the document of every function I use & why.

(P.S. The example data is about getting to pet animals <3)

🚨new paper!🚨

I am thrilled to share our accepted Psych Science post print!! Alongside the wonderful @bryandjames.bsky.social & @emily-willroth.bsky.social, we took two distinct analytic approaches to explore how well-being and cognition change together.

Grateful to be well caffeinated and hydrated at the LGBTIQ+ preconference for #SPSP2025 today!

During a time in the US where trans and nonbinary folks are being actively attacked and attempted to be erased by our government, having this space and sharing this research feels like a protest 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

In the midst of the chaos and feeling like the world is burning down, what’s something that is bringing you joy?

Mine are all these wonderful critters I’ve gotten to meet in recent weeks :-)

Joy is its own protest—we can’t let them take that from us too.

Yesss!! This last year I’ve tried to visualize more of my results, and it makes my papers feel so much prettier. Love a forest plot :)
