Tried to buy Silksong day 1. Servers down. Tried again later. No luck. Next day: planned to get gas after work. Card was declined. Didn't have cash and light was on. Turns out, my bank flagged my attempted purchases as fraudulent. Silksong almost made me hitchhike.

In a contemporary literature course I'm teaching this semester, I had my students find a literary magazine, discuss it, and review something that had been published there. I've done this in class before, but this year I've learned about a lot of cool places I've never heard about including...

Checking the mail today, my neighbor called me over. "Want to see my oyster shucking knives?"

"Yeah, let's see them," I said.

If anyone has questions, I'll relay them to my neighbor.

I teach from a section or two out of Horror in Architecture every semester. I get to say things like "your story is a room with vestigial limbs, arachnid bodies" when they ask why we're reading from an architecture book in a creative writing class

I can't get over how Luo Guanzhong ends each chapter in Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Written in the 14th century.

Some fiction I have up at BULL! Check it out-- I write truly heartwarming stories.

On the way back to Auburn, I decided to drive through Monroeville, the "Literary Capitol of Alabama." I'll have to make time to stop one day.
