Fuse Washington
@fusewashington.org
Fuse is Washington’s largest progressive organization – people creating change online, on the ground, and on issues that matter. www.fusewashington.org
These numbers from the Whatcom Council of Governments on how much tourism from Canada has cratered since Trump took office are brutal.

Our neighbors to the north in B.C. are understandably responding to MAGA tariffs and threats by boycotting the U.S. www.theolympian.com/news/state/w...

At a press conference today, police detective Elizabeth Wareing slammed Brian Heywood's latest dangerous initiatives, saying that the mandatory genital inspections Heywood wants would allow sexual predators more power and access to young children.

Protect kids, decline to sign IL26-001/IL26-638.

Also, years ago national news outlets were absolutely flooded with this shiny rendering of Amazon's promised HQ2, falling over themselves to crown it the new spheres.

Meanwhile, in reality, Amazon hasn't even broken ground on it, and their actual buildings look like the photo on the right 😒
November 20, 2025 at 1:13 AM
When Amazon 1st announced they would open a 2nd HQ outside of Seattle, the usual WA conservatives gloated that progressives making wealthy corporations pay what they owe in taxes had backfired.

Flash forward 8 years and Amazon's HQ2 is a bust & Seattle's Jumpstart tax is keeping our services afloat

Katie Wilson has a personal understanding of the rising costs that are burdening working people in Seattle. What's more, her extensive experience fighting for change at City Hall means she has clear plans to fix this.

That's why editorial boards owned by wealthy conservatives are so afraid of her.
November 19, 2025 at 10:51 PM
In case you missed it on our Instagram, we published a wrap up of all the high-profile races in the Washington election this year!

Also please just mentally update the Katie Wilson number we show to 2,029, we made this last week 😅
November 18, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Thank you to WA Senators @murray.senate.gov and @cantwell.senate.gov for your votes against funding this criminal government, and your steadfast refusal to cave on the working people who deserve affordable health care, not tax breaks for billionaires.

We're lucky to have leaders like you in WA ❤️

Brian Heywood's 2 new dangerous initiatives — IL26-001/IL26-638 — threaten the safety of ALL kids, especially trans & queer students, by forcing invasive genital exams on children who want to play sports.

Decline to sign these dangerous initiatives. Take the pledge here: bit.ly/WFFDecline

That's a wrap on the Seattle Mayor's race: Katie Wilson wins it by 1,975 votes after the final remaining ballots were counted today.

That takes the race out of automatic recount territory as the gap is >0.5%
November 13, 2025 at 12:07 AM
Also, if I'm reading these posts by @kromandavid.bsky.social and @joeveyera.bsky.social correctly, there should be about 600 votes still to count, even aside from those challenged ballots with signature issues I noted above.
November 12, 2025 at 12:14 AM
UPDATE: latest round of ballots counted shows that Katie Wilson now leads Bruce Harrell in the Seattle Mayor's race by 1,346 votes.

That's currently within the 2,000 vote margin to trigger an automatic machine recount. Though there are ~1,000 ballots with signature issues that could change that.
November 12, 2025 at 12:06 AM
In the other close race we've been watching, @edwinobras.bsky.social is now ahead by comfortable 1,500 votes, all but ensuring that he has prevailed over Kevin Schilling and his big corporate backers!
November 11, 2025 at 12:53 AM
Meanwhile, in Eastern WA, @sardixit.bsky.social has officially defeated Jonathan Bingle for the Spokane City Council by 129 votes with all votes counted! 🥳🎉

Dixit flipped this seat Democratic and by a larger margin than requires an automatic recount!
November 11, 2025 at 12:50 AM
In what is perhaps the wildest possible upset of this election, @sardixit.bsky.social is now AHEAD of Republican Jonathan Bingle by 60 votes for the Spokane City Council Position 2 seat!

This seat has been occupied by Republicans for YEARS. For Sarah to flip it would be wild!
November 8, 2025 at 12:58 AM
Obras' lead has extended from yesterday, he's now leading by ~600 votes!

This trend has been quite strong for him over the past few days, so we're expecting his lead to only grow from here as the final ballots are counted.

Chalk up another loss for the big business lobby & their boy Kevin 😆
November 8, 2025 at 12:26 AM
Big news from the latest King County drop of ballots: @edwinobras.bsky.social has finally pulled ahead of Kevin Schilling in the #WALeg race for the 33rd Legislative District!

Obras now leads by ~200 votes in this critical race.
November 6, 2025 at 11:52 PM
As our friends @theurbanist.org note, results in Seattle races were more uniformly against progressive candidates in this batch of ballots: bsky.app/profile/theu...
November 6, 2025 at 12:04 AM
King County dropped their small update of ballots a bit early today.

Hunt, Slatter, and Krishnadasan all gained ground in their wins over their opponents.

Excitingly, Edwin Obras is starting to close the gap with Kevin Schilling: gaining over a percentage point. Schilling leads by only 200 votes
November 6, 2025 at 12:01 AM
Even while trying to deflect and lie, Trump accidentally admits the truth: the MAGA shutdown is hurting Republicans.

Taking food away from children and raising health care costs are hugely unpopular, and so is the MAGA agenda.
November 5, 2025 at 8:09 PM
Nearby in Cheney, WA; @rebeccalong4cheney.bsky.social is leading by JUST TWO VOTES 🤯
November 5, 2025 at 5:41 AM
In the Inland NW, we're seeing leads for Kate Telis and Zack Zappone for Spokane City Council.

Sarah Dixit trails MAGA Republican Jonathan Bingle by right around 200 votes 👀
November 5, 2025 at 5:37 AM
Oh, almost missed this: Victoria Hunt is well ahead of GOP former Rep. Chad Magendanz, who routinely voted against commonsense gun safety laws while he was in #waleg
