I've always had complex thoughts about both the book & the movie and the relationship between the two, which've all evolved over time. Saw the movie first, then read the book because I was a private in the army & it was on some Sergeant Major's reading list.

No matter what, both are *illuminating*

I only use Fahrenheits when talking to other people (in the US). The rest of the time, I've trained myself to think in Centigrades.

But seriously, for the most part, I became fluent in SI units without worrying about conversions, years ago. And it's been weirdly liberating.
