I’m only aware of this because I grew up in Maryland, and back in the day Maryland was one of the places people eloping would run to because they didn’t require blood tests for a marriage license.

A billion years ago, people actually had to do blood tests in order to get a marriage license in most states. I think that’s pretty much been done away with.

From what I understand, the bar scene ain’t what it used to be. Millennials and GenZ don’t drink and socialize that way, nearly as much as those of us born before 1980 did. Everyone’s just sitting around staring into their phone and actual in person events are the exception.

I’m honestly amazed so many people are still paying for shit like Amazon Prime video or Spotify.
Maybe I’m just an old Gen Xer, but I have never abandoned the Old Ways of “sailing the high seas”. The methods of navigation, and vessels that carry you change over time, but it’s all still possible.

Of course it is. While I wish we could have something more on the scale of a General Strike in this country, for now the coordinated targeting of specific corporate malefactors seems to be the most effective way to build awareness of these things among the more disengaged members of the public.

I think another important battlefield people need to pay attention to is the family & friends of any of these cretinous traitors who are participating in these efforts to erode the electoral system need to confront their loved ones about their behavior. These people have spouses, siblings, etc…

I think a lot of the lessons they needed to learn but avoided facing during the “let’s just return to normal” Biden presidency are now unavoidable.
Whether people like it or not, they need to realize this is part of a larger multi-decade push by authoritarian and far-right elements.
