I have watched amazing games get kneecapped by VERY specific branches of a dev team- or something as basic as a dev lead overstepping their expertise and making an awful design choice.

It can really take one person or an unresolved problem to completely fuck up a game, not developer "laziness"

I've been working in QA for about 2ish years now and it's genuinely been so eye opening as to how game development works behind the scenes.

Watching any essayist boil the issues of a game down to sheer incompetence or laze actually drives me insane because that's not how any game dev operates.

No one does this shit with ANY other fucking marginalized group because we learned ages ago how fucked up the sentiment is.

"Obama sent black people back 100 years" was some shit we heard throughout 2008-2016 and EVERYONE knew it was racist.

This shit is no different, so fuck off and stop it.

Like, what a shock, marginalized communities are allowed to have shitty people, that comes with being-a-fucking-human-being.

Why on Earth would you humor the argument that every conservative group weaponizes against the people they oppress? The fuck are you doing you actual morons?

It's also just a straight up dogwhistle. Right wing spaces weaponize it constantly- which is why it sucks when the people affected by it echo the sentiment.

We *cannot* lend credence to the idea that a marginalized collective has to be flawless in the face of their oppressors, it's impossible.

Me and Cawthon were raised under the EXACT same denomination and there is no way the man isn't a Bible thumping Trumpie (outside of his obvious donations).

The effort the community took to try and find every possibly angle to rationalize his political alignment was baffling. Happy I left.

Something I feel a lot of folks don't talk about is how extremely tolerant the FNaF community became of homophobic and racist rhetoric after he was outed as a Trumpie.

The community was already hostile before, but the people that remain definitely normalized Cawthon's ideology, implying "nuance."

Genuinely how I managed to get out of DBD.

Outside of the developers just completely butchering the game these last few months- stepping away and missing out on some crucial, seasonal events gave my muscle memory some time to adjust and realize I didn't need to play it anymore.

Crazy to think this was draw *two years* ago. My techniques have definitely far since changed, but it's nice to have the opportunity to go back and look at my growth.
