The issue was that the original job requirements were tailored to this new graduates experience, where as other similar jobs would have required x years of experience in different things. MSPs are the sweatshops of the tech world, ask anyone who has worked at one.

How did you find those replacement jobs? If some poor soul gets hired directly out of college into a position that is not highly specialized then it is a trap.

This is how the system is abused. This person could not quit their job, which means they could not demand more money. The alternative would have been moving their whole family back to Russia. So everyone had an agreement that we all go through the motions so they don't have their life destroyed.

The person spoke Russian. The person was white. I read the H1B rules and found out that jobs like this are supposed to be advertised internally as well and i asked if I could apply for the job, I was told a lie/joke that if i did i would get in trouble.

Yeah, exactly. I have seen my former employer put a job listing in a single news paper (print only) for their H1B person's job. If they were actually looking they would had up it on indeed. One of the requirements was being multilingual which was 100% not a requirement for this network engineer.
