Man, I hate subscription services. They're convenient until they're not, and once they're not, you're screwed.

Yeah...I don't understand trying to gatekeep a fictional character that is available to a large audience. If you want exclusivity, you should be making your own, not trying to tell everyone else they can't work with that character, too.

If we're talking fanworks...everyone in the same fandom is figuratively playing with the same set of dolls, unless you effectively make more of your own (OCs). Those people need to learn to share their dolls, or learn how to make their own knockoffs that no one else has.

At $9, I would agree they're probably knockoffs, but if you get enjoyment out of them, go for it?

I think it's the fans? Like my understanding is that some people go feral over them, and the resale market (blind boxes bc of course :/ ) is awful? Kinda sucks bc I'd love to get one for my aunt, they're the mix of cute and gremlin I think she'd like, but the prices are nuts.

Mine is common (plus I dislike it) and my head STILL snaps up when I hear it/anything that sounds like it, even when I know someone isn't talking to me.

Honestly, it's kind of wild, because how is it that it simultaneously feels like the Internet was more chaotic and unhinged 10+ years ago while also somehow safer??? Like I know you're never exactly SAFE on the internet, but... Idk, I definitely didn't have crippling anxiety about posting back then.

Ngl, my guess was definitely closer to "Damn they're way more bold than they used to be," which is...unfortunate. People can like what they like, I guess, but I could do without seeing some of that stuff.

I swear it feels like the absolutely unhinged shippers/RPers are either way more prevalent than they used to be, or they've decided to break containment into more "normal" spaces. Sometimes I peek into the ToyHouse RP search forum, and some of the stuff I have seen there is terrifying.
