I mean, the Canada Health Transfer funds from the feds to the provinces don't even necessarily have to be spent on healthcare! It's an absurd, inefficient system that also makes a mockery of the concept of democratic accountability.

I'll just say that it's absurd to have a system where nearly a quarter of healthcare spending is funded by the federal government, especially while that same government has almost no say in how that money is spent.

My personal desire is to see the administration and provision of Canadian healthcare handled by the federal government, but I realize there's absolutely no constituency for such a broad constitutional change.
