A few weeks ago, Executive Director Hans Leijtens met leaders of Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU representatives to mark the launch of Frontex’s first full operation in the country.

Over 100 officers from across Europe will work shoulder to shoulder with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s border police.

Frontex and partners ran a practical workshop in Genoa to help officers spot hidden compartments used to move illicit goods such as drugs, firearms and stolen items. Two days of port checks followed, resulting in the detection of a stolen car.
