My youngest was cast as the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland at school. So I’m pitching in to help with the costumes for the snobby flowers, they’ve asked me to paint their tshirts to show which flower they’re playing. I got the roses done, 8 more shirts to go!

Visiting my in-laws in southern Maryland. Mornings on this porch overlooking Breton Bay are incredible. Two osprey sit patiently in the trees overlooking the water, while a flock of easily over 100 ducks or fowl of some kind have their morning promenade. I can hear a giant woodpecker somewhere.

Great start to this piece today! I loved this clients approach- he didn’t know what he wanted, just where it was going and what he wanted it to symbolize and we brainstormed this whole piece together.

A general sense of unease has been upon me all morning- but a few moments puttering around in the garden, and seeing the bees awake and busy assures me that I am of earth, and to earth one day I may return. But not yet. Not yet.

I’ve been doing neuro-feedback training to help with anxiety, depression, difficulty understanding peoples meaning and intentions in communication, memory loss, and adhd symptoms. This weekend I had an experience that assured me of my progress, and this trash can purse was the catalyst. A thread.

Ok I tweaked it again a bit today, I thought the color on her face was too dark to work with the highlights and her eyes didn’t pop. One of the advantages of synthetic skin over real skin is that you can apply many layers over a color and lighten it. What do you think, better?

Todays progress on this fake skin tattoo painting I’m doing! This stuff is much harder to work with than real skin, it is really slow going. Today makes 10 hours of work on the skin so far (not including the time I spent designing it digitally).

With (gestures vaguely at everything) all this going on… now is the time to get deep into your community, whatever that looks like for you. This weekend a long-held dream of mine came true! I gathered my neighbors together to plan ways we could help meet each others needs.
