I'M TIRED But I can't sleep The doctors say Insomnia It's wrestled with me for years They give me pills They give me bills And march me on my way The pills They lock my brain The fog It pulls me down It's not a gentle night, It's a smothering pillow Now, I don't take my pills And I'm swimming in useless doctor bills I pick up the phone But I don't make the call I don't want more appointments Or pills with bills I guess I just Will never rest at all

Something a little different today.

This is a “song” that I wrote for my girlfriend. I have no musical talent besides singing so I can’t make it into a real song but I love the lyrics. 1/2 🥀

Sharing this poem for all of those that are hurting over family this holiday 🥀
OH DAD I know you want to give me A Christmas present So I could say, in a quiet space “You really do love me” But when was the last time you said it? Why are we afraid, Dad Afraid to say what’s implied? And when we do It dissolves and dissipates Into cold years of stacked silence Is anything real or is it just… Expected Is that why we never would say it? What gives love to a family? And what takes it away? I’d love something that has to be grown? Are there so many Empty families With hollow doll children? Why did we ever make this life? You said it was for God Well Dad I know he was never there And I think it quiet places, You know it too So tell me Dad What are we? But a lie to be implied You never could love me In a way you could say I think we are just the same, Dad You told me He beat you Until his timepiece broke Then, he beat you more For breaking his material world And I’m scared moments I’m still thinking of your angry grip That held me when I was little I wish I could erase it for you But I’m the one with the bruises I wish you could just admit it So I don’t have to admit it for you So I don’t want a present, Dad Because the love you know Is only tied up in Christmas bows I don’t mind it Dad But it could never feed us And I doubt It fed you either
