Cook County Assessor. Running to make the property tax code work for working families.
Pinned
Big corporations have been gaming the property tax system for years. When their bills go down, yours go up to make up the difference — just like a seesaw.

The system is rigged. That’s why I’m fighting to make it fairer for you.
I’m proud to have the support of the @dems45th.bsky.social! This is a great group of neighbors advocating for just and equitable policies at every level of government. I’m proud to have them join me in this fight for homeowners over corporate special interests.

Honored to have the endorsement of the @chicagotribune.com!

Back in 2017, the Tribune exposed the rampant corruption in the Berrios administration, so I'm glad they see the work we're doing to clean it up and fight for homeowners.

Thanks the endorsement, @stephanieskora.bsky.social!Appreciate you covering this race. It comes down to whether the property tax system works for homeowners or donors and special interests.

This office used to be one of the most corrupt in the nation — we can't go back.

It means a lot to get the endorsement from an organization built by neighbors who organize and fight for a more just Chicago. I’m excited to continue working with the 40th Ward Dems to bring property tax relief to homeowners in the ward and across the county.

Whenever I’m fighting for more property tax relief from Springfield, I can always count on Theresa Mah. She’s working to pass bills that would get more tax relief to families who need it, cap tax spikes, & help seniors automatically renew their Senior Freeze benefits.

I’m joining Rufus Williams LIVE on WVON to talk about how I’m working to bring down costs for homeowners by making big corporations pay their fair share in property taxes.

Make sure to tune in tomorrow at 7 am — and call in if you have any questions!

My opponent, Pat Hynes, took $25,000 from a MAGA Trump donor whose family cheered when ICE killed Alex Pretti.

The Loquercios has given $372,000+ to Trump, McConnell, Graham, and others.

Democrats shouldn't take money from MAGA donors or people who celebrate murder. Return it.

Andre consistently stands with the Chicagoans against the powerful special interests who try to rig the system. I’m proud to have his support and look forward to continuing our work together to make sure working families aren’t paying the price for corporate tax cuts. Thanks, Andre!

From his days as an organizer to his tenure in Congress, Chuy has dedicated his life to fighting for the people of our city. I’ve been fortunate enough to call Chuy a friend and ally for many years. I’m thrilled to have his support in this campaign.

Today marks the start of Black History Month, and it has me thinking about Harold Washington, Chicago's first Black mayor.

My family had a front row seat to Harold’s historic rise and his fight to make the system fair for everyone.

His legacy lives on.

@lenifor48th.bsky.social knows that working families are paying more than they should because of corporate tax cuts handed out by the Board of Review Commissioners. I’m happy to have her support & look forward to continuing our work together to end corruption in our property tax system.

Timmy is a great partner in property tax reform. He is always looking out for homeowners and small businesses in his ward and is ready to fight so homeowners don’t pick up the tab for tax cuts handed out to billionaires and big corporations.

I’m fighting to lower costs by making big corporations pay their fair share.

Pat Hynes is bankrolled by property tax attorneys who profit from cutting corporate taxes and sticking you with the bill. It’s pay-to-play corruption, plain and simple.

I’m honored to have so many champions in the Illinois State House support my campaign. Together, we’re working to lower costs for homeowners and renters, expand property tax relief for seniors, and pass “circuit breaker” legislation to protect families from property tax spikes.

I’m honored to have Marie’s endorsement. She has a long history of fighting for equitable policies that work for everyone, not the few. Thanks, @marienewman.bsky.social!

This morning I stood alongside community leaders to call out my opponent Pat Hynes for taking money from property tax lawyers who helped cut Trump Tower's tax bill.

When buildings like Trump Tower get a tax cut they don’t deserve, everyone else has to pay more.

I was happy to join The New Trier Democrats to talk about my work to bring down costs for homeowners, build new affordable homes, and pass legislation to stop tax bills from spiking.

We're working every day to bring down property tax bills for homeowners and make the system fairer.
Our reforms got mansions to pay their fair share. Now we need more property tax relief and to make big corporations pay what they owe. Read more: bit.ly/hph2026

As a scientist, Rep. Foster knows how important proof and data are to policy decisions. He’s read the reports and sees the improvements I’ve made, but there’s still work to be done to get the special interests out of our property tax system. Thanks for the support, @foster4congress.bsky.social!

Thank you for the support, @delia.bsky.social. I’m looking forward to continuing our work together, making Cook County better for everyone who lives here.

I’m honored to have the support of @ccctu1600.bsky.social and their 5,000 members across Cook County. I’m looking forward to building a partnership with these incredible leaders and educators.

It’s truly an honor to receive this endorsement. From his time in Cook County government to his decades of service in Congress, Rep. Davis has spent his entire career fighting for working families and against tax breaks for billionaires. Thank you for the support, Congressman!

In 1966, Dr. King fought for fair housing in Chicago, organizing tenants and leading marches. The Chicago Freedom Movement helped win the Fair Housing Act.

We're still fighting to make sure working families don't get crushed by a system that protects the powerful.

I’m grateful to have the support of so many Chicago leaders who are standing up for homeowners and against big corporations. Together, we can deliver real savings for working families and end property tax cuts for billionaires.
