Just like Douglas Costa on Jesus a few seasons ago

Gyökeres was the ball early and down the line to shoot. Not late and wide to play it back across

It’s on Odegaard. The moment passed and he shouldn’t have played it let along overhit the pass

Agenda is real

Odegaard isn’t that bad!
December 20, 2025 at 9:08 PM
Must. Blame. Gyökeres.

Can you imagine what the press and broader society would have said about a black player behaving the way he did after the treble celebrations. The irony is there, but lost

Bald Moyes!

I do find the body shaming of Gyökeres a tad extreme. Most other players would be branded as “unfit” or “off the pace”… “heavy” and “lumpy” isn’t something I thought I’d hear on this pod

And so many poor performances across the squad against Wolves too…

I guess he’s the new guy, no connection to the club and people had allegiances to Sesko etc before VG even came in
December 17, 2025 at 1:32 PM
If we end up needing someone to blame, it matters!
December 16, 2025 at 2:28 PM
No doubt! Sometimes the wrong call doesn’t end up mattering at all… and is it then even the wrong call? When a Doku craps in the woods and all that
December 16, 2025 at 2:10 PM
You would think that will happen if/when they drop points
December 16, 2025 at 2:01 PM
I think it will need to be 12/12. Need to hold the line
December 14, 2025 at 4:24 PM
The only part that’s different is that Arsenal throw away any actual points last night
December 14, 2025 at 2:55 PM
Didn’t say 1st/not 1st was the criteria to pass judgement. You project a lot
December 14, 2025 at 11:59 AM
I think I will wait until the end of the season to pass that level of judgement
December 14, 2025 at 11:50 AM
Minimizable imo
December 14, 2025 at 11:41 AM
Got it. You’re just talking about the what. I was more trying to get to the why 👍
December 14, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Fair enough if you think that wasn’t a poor performance which followed a familiar script - where some of struggles are Arsenal’s own fault and within their control to address

And yes, some of the ways they struggle are probably unique to this team’s set up/approach. It would be weird if it wasn’t
December 14, 2025 at 7:54 AM
Sure. Totally not the point but ok
December 14, 2025 at 1:06 AM
This performance is a pattern over the last few seasons and they cost titles

Gyökeres just looks like another player in this Arsenal team. Ponderous and indecisive. Not sure it’s the player as much as it is the environment

Got away with one today, and there’s more to this than Gyökeres

Lot of literal core of jobs were not done. The fact that only one chance was created for the #9 at home against the worst team in premier league history is a much bigger issue than zooming in on one moment. And it wasn’t particularly unfamiliar.
December 13, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Plenty of players in the first half were off their game. A very familiar script, that to me, is much more about the collective and their mindset, than individual moments
December 13, 2025 at 10:08 PM
This looked very much like a vintage home stinker from seasons past. Not sure Gyökeres is the cause of this performance
