I had to do a half hour of work today and Estella joined me on the chair so now I get to cuddle her

I guess the ones born right before those cameras came out would be early twenties; at least from what I remember, my parents switched somewhere around 2006ish but they also might've waited a generation or two.

So many mini CDs of photos that we need to find and copy off the disc again

Rachel, I'm sorry to break this to you but those "kids" are late twenties to early thirties now

My guess would be that they used one of photoshop's newer features that lets you describe what you want done to the picture and it uses genAI to do it, but that's just a guess

They linked the stock photo and said they used photoshop's remove tool to get rid of the people, but there are definitely some inconsistencies between the stock and final image (e.g. the floor tiles are different, the chair armrests are wonky, ANGEL is missing its L)

As an American with a lot of friends and acquaintances in Europe, I have to do month name and day number even for just myself because I can't even keep it straight which way is American and which way is everywhere else lol

i can't trust that amit's comparison between nearest neighbor and linear filtering is true, nor that the text in the blogpost makes any sense, because i'm not enough of an expert in the topics i'm reading about to *find* the subtle inconsistencies and mistakes

Ohhh, interesting. Guess we'll have to wait and see what they come up with officially for the new licenses
October 6, 2025 at 6:07 AM
It's also possible it was something like 10 users with no license, 32ish with the free license, where just registering for an account allowed you to have more, but that was like 10 years ago so I'm a bit fuzzy on the details lol

Back in TS3 era you could self host for free up to around 10 users (iirc) then after that you needed a license. According to the website now you get up to 32 users for free which seems pretty reasonable

Back when I was in my college apartment they decided to replace the siding. The guy that worked on it showed up a bit before 8 every day, got his country music playing, and waited until precisely 8am to start hammering on my wall. I didn't even need an alarm clock for a while lol

Same deal as Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence lol

I was at a restaurant with some co-workers while out of town for a job and I joked to them "do you think anyone orders based on bang for buck calories?"

I then proceeded to examine the menu and made decisions accordingly 💀

If you actually want to: you should look into the Dutch American Friendship Treaty

I had this happen once for work too. We were scheduled to be the first of two flights, one right away in the morning and one in the afternoon. We were on the plane and ready to go on time but it was just one thing after another and we ended up finally leaving AFTER the 2nd plane had already landed 😬
