I guess once you've decided that every bad outcome is someone else's fault and everything good is because of you it really doesn't matter what you sign. He can't be wrong so he can't be bothered. He wants to go golfing. Bored out of his mind by the things that actually matter.

You realize that I am just trying to go the route of the op in understanding the parents here? If the parents feel that the Chinese language has been tainted by the PRC government, then using TW teaching materials might feel less tainted to THEM.
