Thats when it clicked with me, my art is mine because.. well I made it. just being you is and has always been enough. I love clean colorful art. and guess what? That's what I make and I love it. I don't always do the best numbers wise, but I enjoy what I do and it took me a long time to see that.

Making something your own is a skill in its own right. And that's the hardest part. What makes your art yours? Is it your clean lines? is it your messy lines? color? perspective? rendering? It can be anything, but at the end of the day does your art shout that you made it?

So that's what I did, I found artists that I liked and I watched them, Learned from them, and took what fit my "style". I still do this. Every time im on this app I look for people beyond my skill and see what they do and how they do it. But just learning from others isnt enough.

Art is very structured, MOST artist will find the same shapes and lines make the same body parts. but every artist dose the same thing slightly different, either in the concept phase or in the rendering phase. Style is just a fancy word for breaking the rules. breaking the mold if you will.

Ok now that ya got the Butter lore lol. But we are not done just yet. How did those strangers help my art? Did I steal from them? Trace their art? No lol, nothing like that. I studied. I looked over their art like it was in a museum and though about why they made the decisions they did.

So now its 2022 I'm done with college and I get on twitter, OOP twitter dies, welp now im on this weird ass app. and I know NOONE lol. Luckily I was lucky enough to engage with some cool ass people in my early social art career, such as lemonJoJo, LoS, and Gear. Some people that helped my art.

But art ISNT perfect. That's why my teacher tried hammering into my head for years. "Success without failure is luck, you need to fail to improve"
Like what? fail on purpose? well no. Don't intend to fail, but if/when you do learn from those mistakes. Because they will lead you to success.

But not touching art for almost 3 years dosent help lol. duh! so while I wasnt back to square 1 I was no where near my old skill level. To I tried skipping steps (like always) to get ahead. Better faster, but this time... I saw a flaw in that thinking. I always thought art needed to be perfect

Well called is a bad term for it. He yelled at me, screamed and at the end of the call asked me a simple question "what else are you going to do?" and it reminded me of when I was back in highschool originally, so I said fuck it. I enrolled into school and became a art major.
