For me it was a month at business school in Chicago in the mid-80s with a class of about 60 senior managers, mostly American. I realised how little most of them knew about the wider world, deeply US centric with a degree of complacency and arrogance. I had far more in common with 8-10 non-Americans.

It's a question I ask people. Depressing how few have heard of it. Slow travel (bike) through Eastern Europe to the Black Sea plus lots of reading was an education about a region on which the British are so ill informed.

What is still ignored is the role of banks using their ability to create money (as explained by the BofE) to fuel property inflation. Its now the bulk of their lending. Josh Ryan Collins has explained.
Unfortunately most economists believe what they were taught, that banks are just intermediaries

The Trump regime is irredeemably corrupt, autocratic, with no interest in consequences for others, only self interest. The US political system is incapable of dealing with a malignant regime and too many in the business world support it. Tech, fin, fossil especially. Ukraine & Europe are alone
