Fig got spayed this week. I got her a onesie to wear instead of the cone of shame. She's so adorable in it that I just melt.

FWIW, 24 months is too short for these long bodies!

Mahm. I don't WANT my chew. I want HER chew.

You just bullied her for the very chew you don't want anymore.

I know. I want both of them.

She's here! That little, bouncy spitfire is, if all goes well with my 2 dogs, going to be mine today!

A very precious piece of cargo is headed my way.

Today marks the 54th election I've voted in since turning 18 in the early 90s.

I always think of a woman I worked with who didn't vote. Why? "I'm not smart enough to vote." She was a single mom to a young girl, and having an affair with the alcoholic boss.

Maybe she was right.

Now, with bonus toe beans.

I see your kitty feet and raise you corgi butts.

Have I mentioned that I got a new ring?

I got the news today that my girl's kidney infection is all cleared up.

I wore my new "Resist" necklace to a potluck last night. A Mormon friend's husband asked if I'd gone to the protest. I said I had been to many. He said he's been nervous about going due to fears of violence. I said that they've been peaceful, with families and children and even a few dogs. /1

Getting ready to head to my local protest with friends.

My teen is not flushing their 💩! We are so tired of finding nasty, disintegrating turds they've left behind.

How it feels these days.

My corgi is recovering from a staph infection that happened when repeated UTIs migrated to her kidneys. She was sooo sick. The right antibiotics really are a marvel.

Enough doom-scrolling today. I'm going to enjoy my corgis improved health. She hasn't sat on my legs like this in a long time.

(She had UTIs all summer, which turned into a bad kidney infection due to staph.)

My poor girl is so sick. She had 2 UTIs this summer, which seem to have developed into a kidney infection. She'll spend the next 2 days at the vet getting IV fluids and come home at night, as they don't have overnight care. She is so very miserable. #CorgisOfBluesky

I stalked your profile for pics of said pup and was deeply disappointed.

Here are my two, who inadvertently reenacted this sticker.

It's official. My Hulu and Starz subscriptions have gone the way of my Amazon Prime and my Target accounts: CANCELED.

My library account is getting a workout, and I increased my NPR support from $20 to $50 per month.

Dennis Quaid tried to get the college where I work to buy into his insipid "Viewpoint" TV show, where he reads from a teleprompter in front of a ridiculous green screen of an AI city scape. It was insanely expensive with no obvious benefit to anyone other than his own bottom line.

I saw this yard today and thought it was beautiful. The way the sunlight hit the dandelion heads, turning them into little, glowing globes of ephemeral wishes.

Reading is way better for my mental health than doomscrolling. I was happy to remember today that I had @hcrichardson.bsky.social's book waiting on my bookshelf. Will it be inspiring or gut-wrenching?

I recently cleaned put my parents' home and stumbled across my mother's $10k hoard. It was about 1.5" thick. Imagine what 5x this looked like.

How many other times was he given such a large sum?
September 22, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Last spring, as I was cleaning out my parents' house, I found my mom's dementia-fueled hoard of about $10k in cash. It was maybe 2" thick.

In case you're trying to imagine what $50,000 looks like, it'd be 5x this.
