This happened to me with “cheesequake”

Whoa! I worked on this, we were very into it while it was being made but just assumed it fully crashed and burned with audiences, never knew there was a persistent steadfast fandom :)

One final point about “all these new characters”
Why are there so many? Wouldn’t it be enough to watch a couple of people arrive at hopeful belief out of deep cynicism/despair rather than 8-10 slapdash exposition vessels that are so hastily introduced they are functionally emotionally frictionless?

Anyway I could honestly skip the big poeticisms and analysis and just say it felt like almost nothing to me in theaters and it still feels like almost nothing to me having rewatched it after Andor. It’s not the worst I’m just consistently confused by some fans consistently rating it the best

Rogue One script is almost entirely passionately delivered childish starry-eyed rhetoric, a series of vapid greeting card aphorisms so broad they can’t have any practical bearing on any specific moment or character but are backed by swelling music and heartwarming reactions from the motley friends

Andor isn’t even perfect but it successfully explores the complex positive and negative realities of ideological rhetorical language to both support/propagate and confound anti-authoritarian sentiment, revolution, rebellion

I’m not implying Rogue One should have been able to narratively do everything Andor did, I’m saying it pales in comparison to even one episode of Andor in terms of expression/illustration of the same themes and ideas. . .

Yes, yes, yes, how is this take so rare
November 24, 2025 at 8:09 PM
I loved Andor and I still know that Rogue One is not very good, mostly hollow shell of an attempt at what Andor took 2 seasons to express, continually dismayed at fan love affair with it before and after Andor left its mark

“That’s silly, it just means they got dust in the middle”

Just started this one, thinking “visually looks good, matthew goode, magic and shit, might be something!”
Then he sniffed her jacket and imprinted like Twilight and a girl vampire sexily killed a tourist because he had the same name as her imprint
+ magic species can’t intermate like Underworld
