joining the dsa is great except i get to see peoples big money donations to local pols and all it makes me think of is is how much time i spend thinking about being able to afford food every month.

ie: bluebond langer canceled my surgery 1 month before it was scheduled (i had waited two years) bc i asked for an accessibility accommodation for a pre-op and then she had the office screen my call/email when i asked to reschedule. some of these doctors want perfect patients for their own prestige.
In truth, there are widespread rumors about several of the most prominent surgeons who work with trans patients. When you have a community of desperate people no one takes seriously whose healthcare is deeply stigmatized it attracts a few noble carers... and a lot of unethical grifters.
