3 in the Top 30, Betty Davis just outside and one of three helping ‘Magnetic South’ make it to the first page, I think this is the first time ever all 5 of my choices have made the top 100 for any of these polls over the years.

Very surprised to see ‘Magnetic South’ on the list at all, let alone on the first page; you and I were 10 of its 11 points.

Only other shout for ‘Magnetic South’ I’ve see so far and also in the first place spot. 💙

One of my all time favs, “Mr Frump in the Iron Long” used to scare the shit out of me as a kid. (It’s still pretty unsettling as an adult to be honest.)

The ‘86/‘87 studio era for Prince is my favorite, the amount of absolutely high quality material he produced is astonishing.

I can’t think of anyone else who would have thrown such a joke in the middle of such a serious track, it’s brilliant.

I do think he made the right choice, but to think it replaced something as good as “Crucial” is mindblowing.

“U can burn up my clothes, smash up my ride…well, maybe not the ride” is an absolutely stunning lyric, especially how you can hear the wink in the way he delivers it.

That’s an excellent example. ‘Think Tank’ by Blur is another one that comes to mind.
