Yep, using the email address I signed up to Bluesky with, I gave them all the relevant information, and then I received this canned response:

@bsky.app I never got any response from Blue Sky, now they are requiring that I verify my age. I've tried to do this, but again I'm still not getting an email to the address I signed up with! So it appears as I'm unable to verify, access to adult content and direct messaging is disabled! What now??

I've looked into this a bit further, apparently you can send a private (direct) message from Blue Sky to Blue Sky, using the 'Chat' option, but cannot to an external (for example, Mastodon) account.
