Even these basic examples of text and shape layouts feel of the era. Also the book I think belonged to a graphic design student and so has an old scrap of paper as a bookmark (seen in the last image) and scattered notes throughout

This post reminded me of this old “How to Understand and Use DESIGN and Layout” book from 1987 I got at a local thrift store. It’s a treasure trove of distinctly 80s design that isn’t the nasty stranger things clipart that Google spits out. Sure it’s available online somewhere

Working on another short comic maybe 15-16 pages. Going good so far haven’t gotten super far into it but having fun nonetheless. Hope to have some more smaller things coming out now that my superhero cartoon is done. We’ll see how that pans out with work and school and all that

This specific version of Robot Dreams by Isaac Asimov. I remember my middle school English teacher really liking the project I did that was just fan fiction for the title story. She let me keep the book when the year ended along with a fuzzy green pillow, both of which I still have.
