One of these days he's going to have to get around to telling Sid about Ephie and why he feels responsible for her death. She's the stand-in for the friend that 10 year-old Fray lost in canon to a Temple Knight(we didn't get any details so I made her up to fill that spot in story) pre-Ompagne & Sid.

But even as a kid he always daydreamed about growing up to marry Ephie, even if he knew that it was more likely Ephie would get married off to someone else.

Arguably he had a stronger hand in Ephie's fate than Ysayle's, but it will still haunt him as his 'fault'.

He already suspects that his crush is similarity to Ephie's appearance and her death is still on his hands and it happened *again* with Ysayle.

This was on repeat for the entire duration of taking these. It's interesting to play with his guilt and shame over dreams of a dead comrade. It's not like Sidurgu would be upset with him, but to Fray it's something that eats at him.

Fray pressed his lips together, thinking carefully on Aymeric's words. Both words could be used to describe-- Well, there wasn't much use focusing on that right now. "One is often not far from the other."

Something I think about a lot is in the event of Fray staying dead is exactly how someone will pick up those pieces for Sid and if he will let them. It's so messy.
