he and stepmom used me as a scapegoat for family problems. they tried to have me put away for mental health issues. they forced me to do unsafe labor. they kept me in a moldy, uninsulated basement. they gaslit me constantly. I can deal with them at a distance, but I can't live in their house again.

my dad kept me under lock and key, and controlled my life with an iron fist. I tried running away. In the end I just played the long game and kept my head down until adulthood, because that was the only real escape. I really don't want to go back. I'm 30 and recently, barely made it to independence.

If it was like, a fursuit, maybe, because that would be several thousand dollars. But I'm not going to take people to court over a two or three figure sum. It mostly angers me because art pieces are how people represent themselves in this community, a fursona is a self image people ID you with.

Sometimes I feel like a fake furry because I have so little art and I feel mostly invisible at conventions and in chats/servers. I don't feel that I'm part of a "furry community". As much as I would like to be, from my point of view it just feels like a fandom. I wish it weren't that way.

It looks extra frickin weird when someone puts on a CGI kids movie.
