I don't know if you can tell but @kimwehle.bsky.social and I have been working on a paper on this stuff, and just yesterday I went through Trump v. Anderson.

And when the Supreme Court overturned that decision (ignoring and declaring null and void the literal text of the 14th Amendment), it did so *not on the merits* but on the technical grounds that states cannot enforce it but only Congress.
