Maybe the lesson was Hilary should not have taken such a large swath of her party and base for granted. I'm not saying not voting for her was a smart thing to do, but she fucked up thinking Trump couldn't win and she didn't have to earn votes from her base. Harris made the same mistake.

A lot of us see it too. The problem is a massive swath of the country and one of our two political parties have made defending and supporting Trump their entire being. Most of them could sooner turn their back on Trump than they could give away one of their arms it's so ingrained in them.

Cue SCOTUS issuing a shadow docket opinion that it's fine to proceed with the new maps until they hear the case in early 2027.

Toward the end of her life my grandmother had dementia that meant she had memories of some things and basically no memory of others. She'd tell you a story but then it would remind her of something else that was garbled and made no sense. This is Trump. His brain is mush now.

So I understand the mentality of accepting corruption if you think you'll benefit. But none of us thought he was anything but a scumbag and just went along. When he went down, no one tried to defend him or pretend we didn't know. I don't get why Trump voters can't do the same.

He wouldn't have us clock in and out and would just put our hours in and overpay us when there wasn't a lot of work so he didn't have to pay OT when there was. He was letting people use warehouse space off the books to store who knows what. No one ever said anything because we all benefited.

Years ago I worked in a warehouse and had a boss who was really crooked. But we all benefited. He took backdoor deals from vendors and made them bring us lunch every Friday. He hired mostly college kids part time so he didn't have to pay benefits.
