A distinct feature about our opaque tax system is that it lets every public official (Mayor, Assessor, Board of Review, ect) to point the finger at someone else for why your taxes went up.

Who’s to blame for this year’s property tax bills? Finger-pointing and opportunism abound.
Within days, the metastasizing debate over who was responsible for the rising tax burden collided with deepening ideological rifts in Chicago and Cook County.

It was a bipartisan holiday party. First time I met Austin. However, that was not the first time I met Kim Foxx or Juliana Stratton. I have been friends with Kim and Juliaka for a decade or so. Maybe you are a hater because you weren't invited.

It's a holiday party with the express purpose of bringing together Republicans and Democrats. You should attack the entire Democratic establishment of Chicago for going too.
November 30, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Yes, I'm hanging out with notorious right winger Kim Foxx. You got me!!
November 30, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Where did you see that? Who is the head of the Illinois Institute?

Deepfakes are made with the intention to deceive. Parodies are obviously ridiculous, meant as commentary. I'm not going to be shamed by a bunch of people who think they are moralists when they are actually censors. That Kyle dude is literally saying I should be "shamed" WTF.
November 30, 2025 at 6:30 PM
I said it was AI. It was not a deepfake. It was meant as parody. 6 open bottles of wine for an in station PBS interview is obviously parody. I refuse to believe you are this dense.
November 30, 2025 at 6:25 PM
Yes, I agree!
November 30, 2025 at 6:20 PM
I'm not apologizing for posting parody. I even said it was AI in my post. You should be apologizing for trying to censor speech that criticizes your beloved leader, Samantha Steele.
November 30, 2025 at 6:11 PM
It's not a deepfake. It's obvious parody. You are trying to censor me because you are Samantha Steele's buddy.
November 30, 2025 at 6:10 PM
Yes, some people's reading comprehension skills are so bad they can't comprehend the difference between parody and reality

I'm looking at the objection petition, I think Cardenas is cooked. Three people signed his petition more than 20 times each. And he still has to undergo many whole sheet objections, which will invalidate more signatures.

Rogers has had plenty of job openings and I didn't apply or ask for a job. I'm not looking for a job. I will promise you this. In the extremely unlikely event that I would work for Larry Rogers in the future, you will be the first to know.
November 29, 2025 at 3:33 AM
I'm not working for either Cardenas, Rogers, or commercial property interests. I'm not online promoting them. I'm not a shill.

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
November 29, 2025 at 3:13 AM
Yes. However, in other jurisdictions (excluding Cook County), the Board of Review often make large scale fixes, called "equalize"
November 29, 2025 at 3:00 AM
I am largely agreeing with you. I was just saying that you could still find comparable sales, even if all the neighborhood assessments (comparable properties) were hypothetically bad, because the market sales would be, in theory, accurate.
November 29, 2025 at 2:49 AM
I've posted too recently about Cardenas. I am happily employed and I am not looking for a job. I may go back to the government working in taxes one day because I took a lot of coursework in taxes.
