It's Winter Solstice. Hippie and new age shit will be posted throughout the day. Patchouli drum circles might break out.

Perfect day for an internet break.

"Business!" cried the Ghost, wringing its hands again. "Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence were all my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!"

I watched this amazingly hilarious body horror movie KOMBUCHA. It's a satire on office cubical culture, & the yuppies who partake in vile drinks like kombucha bc someone one day thought it cool.

In one scene instead of breast milk, a woman squeezes out kombucha. Hilarious!

What a horrible thing, found murdered with knife wounds. His wife was murdered too. I loved a few movies directed by Rob Reiner like STAND BY ME; SPINAL TAP; MISERY. But him acting in ALL IN THE FAMILY, legend.

RIP, Meathead.

A top 5 favorite film of mine. And a top 5 favorite novel too.

America is a banana republic. Con men. So damn cringe.

Basically, selling deportation immunity. You know, the Roman Empire sold citizenship before it collapsed. We are in the fucking dumbest timeline of our lives.

Happy Birthday to 2 favs the one-eyed king, Jim Harrison. & his friend, the singular Thomas McGuane.

Weird how they were pals & shared the same Birthday. Jim died a few years back, legend. McGuane put out a collection of short stories 2 months ago. Brilliant stories, still got it in his mid 80s.

Happy Birthday to the singular Tom Waits. The cigarette & bourbon voice dancing across the hard working streets of oblivion. The Christmas lights reviving the broken heart forever weeping inside the dark corners of a 7 a.m. 3rd shift bar

I have not and will not make a list for best movies since 2000. I'd leave stuff off by accident driving my OCD mind crazy.

If I did have one, this one would be on it, no doubt. It's one of the most visually stunning movies I've ever seen. I'm about to rewatch it for the first time in years.

I keep seeing posts on the passing of Daniel Woodrell, but I see no mention of it in searches.

If so, RIP, genius. Loved WINTER'S BONE; TOMATO RED; THE OUTLAW ALBUM; BAYOU TRILOGY; GIVE US A KISS.

Some ppl already talking about favorite neo noir Christmas movies

Sure, I LOVE 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.' Love 'Bad Santa,' but I don't consider it in the same vein. It's more a black comedy movie to me.

My fav is this one, based on the excellent Scott Phillips novel. Everyone involved is wonderful
